1. American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT)
We are...
- Determined - Ensuring the dissemination of knowledge of physics, particularly by way of teaching - with numerous programs, conferences, and workshops.
- Established - Working since 1930 to better physics education
- Diverse - Over 10,000 members in 30
- Dedicated and Directed - With a dynamic strategic plan guiding our actions.

2. American Center for Physics (ACP)
The American Center for Physics brings together in one building the American Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers, and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.

3. American Institute of Physics (AIP)
Dedicated to the advancement of physics, AIP serves a federation of physical science societies, and provides leadership through its own programs and publications.

4. American Physical Society (APS)
American Physical Society
The American Physical Society (www.aps.org) is a non-profit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy and international activities. APS represents over 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories and industry in the United States and throughout the world. Society offices are located in College Park, MD (Headquarters), Ridge, NY, and Washington, DC.

5. Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies
Need for Cooperation and Collaboration among Asian Physicists and Asian Physical Societies
Recently, the need for cooperation and/or collaboration among Asian physicists has increased substantially in many fields of physics, primarily because Asian contribution to physics is now extremely important and globally visible. For example, in my research area of nuclear physics, ANPhA (Asian Nuclear Physics Association) was created a few years ago, and numerous discussions are in progress on recent and new accelerators in Asian countries. The need of Asian collaboration and cooperation in this field is becoming vital these days. I noticed many similarities in other fields as well.
When looking at these trends, I feel very strongly about creating a visible Physical Society in the Asian and Pacific regions, similar to the European Physical Society (EPS) and American Physical Society (APS). In my tenure of ASPPS President, therefore, I have set two major goals.
The first goal is to establish this AAPPS as a true union for all Physical Societies in the Asian and Pacific regions. So far, this AAPPS has not been well recognized among individual Physical Societies. For example, in the Physical Society of Japan, AAPPS has not played any major roles. I, therefore, discussed with many Physical Societies on the need of AAPPS. Most of them responded seriously and positively about the necessity of having Asian union, to accelerate cooperation and collaboration. Stronger actions have been eagerly awaited in China, Korea, Japan and other countries.I would make our best effort to create stronger ties of AAPPS to all Physical Societies.
The second goal is to establish Divisional structure in AAPPS.Physics covers a broad range of subfields. Therefore, most of the Physical Societies have divisional structures on which smaller but more lively activities can be generated. In Japan, we have two Physical Societies, JPS and JSAP.There, about 40,000 members are in total, and the need of divisional structure clearly exists.EPS and APS have similar structures as well.I am hoping to gradually create a similar environment in AAPPS as well.
Asia is growing rapidly, and is becoming a world leader now.Let us create the strongest AAPPS ever.

6. CERN - European Organization for Nuclear Research
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's largest particle accelerator, is currently shut down for annual maintenance. In February CERN will decide whether to run the LHC at a total energy of 8 TeV this year, instead of 7 TeV as in 2011. Higher energy should increase the chances of finding heavy particles. By early March, all the magnets around the 27-kilometre accelerator will have been cooled down to their operating temperatures of -271.3 0C, ready to guide beams of particles through the LHC.

7. European Nuclear Physics Conference 2012
EuNPC2012 is the Second European Nuclear Physics Conference, organized by the Nuclear Physics Board of the European Physical Society, the "Horia Hulubei" National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering and the Romanian Physical Society.
EuNPC2012 is meant to be the opportunity to review and discuss the status and prospects of the field, especially the major developments expected for the coming years. The Nuclear Physics community, from young physicsts to established practitioners, is invited to meet in Bucharest to showcase the Nuclear Physics for the Next Generations.

8. Graduate Students in Physics Education Research (GSPER)
Hello! Greetings! Welcome to GSPER (Gee-spur). As the field of physics education research (PER) continues to grow, it becomes necessary for us graduate students to find ways to keep in touch with each other and learn a little bit about each other's work. We work in separate environments and learn in our own ways what it means to be part of this field, yet it is important for all of us to learn of the variety that exists within the field. The least we should do with this variety is try to listen to each other, incorporating the skills others show into our own work. The only way for PER to succeed in the physics community is for us to be better than we are expected to be.....

9. Institute of Physics (IOP)
The Institute of Physics is a leading scientific society promoting physics and bringing physicists together for the benefit of all.
It has a worldwide membership of around 40 000 comprising physicists from all sectors, as well as those with an interest in physics. It works to advance physics research, application and education; and engages with policy makers and the public to develop awareness and understanding of physics. Its publishing company, IOP Publishing, is a world leader in professional scientific.

10. International Commision on Physics Education (ICPE)
The International Commission on Physics Education promotes the exchange of information and views among the members of the international scientific community in Physics Education including:
- The collection, evaluation, coordination and distribution of information concerning education in the physical sciences at all levels,
- Information relating to the assessment of standards of physics teaching and learning
- Suggestions of  ways in which the facilities for the study of physics at all levels might be improved, stimulating experiments at all levels, and giving help to physics teachers in all countries in incorporating current knowledge of physics, physics pedagogy, and the results of research in physics education into their courses and curricula.
